I began choral singing in the seventh grade in Virginia and sang in school choral groups through ninth grade. We moved to California where there were no school choral groups, so I joined a church choir. In college, I sang with the Choral Society and the Madrigal Singers. After college, my choral singing was again limited to church choirs until I was invited to join the Arizona Masterworks Chorale in 1999. I still sing in a church choir, as well as the Phoenix-based Canticum Novum Chamber Choir.
What are your “day job” and Interests?
I’m a retired insurance claim adjuster.
Why is it important for you to be a member of AMC?
I really enjoy singing in harmony with other singers, and AMC gives me that opportunity. I also enjoy learning new, and sometimes difficult, music.
What impact do you want AMC to have on the community?
I want AMC to show the community how choral music, as a form of art, can advance our quality of life.
