AMC COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

RATIONALE:  Protecting the health of AMC singers, staff, volunteers, and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic is of paramount importance.  Choral singing—a group activity that requires breathing intensely in close proximity to one another—is one of the highest-risk activities for the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  Therefore, the AMC Board of Directors believes it is prudent to adopt a vaccination policy that minimizes health risks to all.

ARTISTS, CONTRACTORS, AND VOLUNTEERS:  Any AMC Artist, including choristers, music staff, and featured artists, AMC Contractors, and AMC Volunteers taking part in any Chorale rehearsal, performance, workshop, or audition must show proof of full COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination before participation.  The only acceptable forms of documentation are:

  • The CDC Vaccination Record Card received when you were vaccinated, or
  • An Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Patient Vaccination Record obtained from ADHS

IMPLEMENTATION:  When an individual submits a 2021-2022 Season Chorister or Volunteer Information Form, or Contractor or Featured Artist Agreement, documentation of their vaccination status shall be presented to an AMC representative who will visually verify its contents, record the type of documentation (ADHS or CDC), and return the document to the individual.  AMC will not retain a copy of the document.

PATRONS:  Any AMC Patron, including audience members and venue staff, attending a Chorale performance shall be fully masked while inside the performance venue, regardless of age or vaccination status.  In the event a performance venue policy requires a more stringent level of protection, the venue’s policy shall prevail and implementation of the policy shall be the responsibility of the venue.

Policy Effective Date: July 21, 2021, to June 30, 2022, unless renewed by the Board of Directors.
Revised Policy approved and adopted by the AMC Board of Directors on September 20, 2021.
