AMC COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

RATIONALE:  Protecting the health of Arizona Masterworks Chorale (AMC) singers, staff, volunteers, and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic is of paramount importance.  Choral singing—a group activity that requires breathing intensely in close proximity to one another—is one of the highest-risk activities for the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  Therefore, the AMC Board of Directors believes it is prudent to adopt a vaccination policy that minimizes health risks to all.

ARTISTS, CONTRACTORS, AND VOLUNTEERS:  Any AMC Artist, including choristers, music staff, and featured artists, AMC Contractors, and AMC Volunteers taking part in any Chorale rehearsal, performance, workshop, or audition must show proof of full COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination before participation.  The only acceptable forms of documentation are:

  • The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Vaccination Record Card received when you were vaccinated, or
  • An Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Patient Vaccination Record obtained from ADHS

CHORISTERS, MUSIC STAFF, CONTRACTORS, FEATURED ARTISTS, AND VOLUNTEERS:  When an individual submits a 2022-2023 Season Chorister or Volunteer Information Form, or Contractor or Featured Artist Agreement, documentation of their vaccination status shall be presented to an AMC representative who will visually verify its contents, record the type of documentation (ADHS or CDC), and return the document to the individual.  AMC will not retain a copy of the document.

PATRONS:   Masking is not required for AMC Patrons, including audience members and venue staff, attending a Chorale performance unless venue policy requires a more stringent level of protection.  In such case, the venue’s policy shall prevail and implementation of that policy shall be the responsibility of the venue.

Policy Effective Date: July 9, 2022, to June 30, 2023, unless amended by the Board of Directors.
