Home for the Holidays: An American Christmas is the star that tops AMC’s tree to mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence — and there may be no better way to end the year and celebrate an American birthday than with American voices raised in song!

This concert traces the holiday season the way generations of American families have actually experienced it: centuries-old European carols carried across the ocean and given a distinctly American voice by two of the twentieth century’s great arrangers; a Christmas songbook practically invented by American songwriters, native-born and immigrant, in the years after World War II; the lights of Hanukkah honored alongside the lights of Christmas; and a room full of neighbors singing together, the way this country’s holiday gatherings always have. It’s all about heritage and homecoming — the perfect way to spend an afternoon during America’s 250th birthday year.
