Meet the Singer

James Stirling
James Stirling, Tenor

I have been singing professionally for the past 20 years. I attended Westminster Choir College where I had the pleasure of receiving vocal training from Julian Rodescu and Mark Moliterno. I have sung under the batons of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Alan Gilbert, Daniel Barenboim, James Jordan, and Simon Rattle to name a few. For the ’23-’24 concert season I sang with the Phoenix Symphony Chorus, where I sang solos for Fauré’s Requiem and Lili Boulanger’s Soir Sur la Pleine.

What are your “day job” and Interests?

I am the music teacher for grades 7 to 12 at ASU Preparatory Academy in Downtown Phoenix.

Why is it important for you to be a member of AMC?

It is important for me to be a member of AMC because it is my one outlet for my own singing.

What impact do you want AMC to have on the community?

I want AMC to network with other ensembles in the area in order to bring high quality large works to the greater population while also being approachable.
